Esther Don I have been enthusiastically teaching since 1976. My experience has covered every aspect of teaching, from beginners to competitors. In the Ballroom competition community I am an active Judge. Most recent dance accomplishments includes: authoring six technique manuals and producing 20 Dvd’s, Author of the American Style Syllabus used by Pan American Teachers of Dancing, National Dance Teachers Association, United States Terpsichore Association and the U.S. Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. Professional Trainer/ Coach/Examiner/Judge Member of the USISTD Board of Trustees Event and Competition Organizer Julia Pekarskaya Former USSR representative in Latin,Standard and Ten Dance from 1978 through 1988. Former Eastern European Latin, Standard and Ten Dance finalist from 1978-1988 Julia have traveled extensively with lectures and workshops to educate dancers in every Republic of the former Soviet Union, Siberia, Far East Of Russia in addition to her own performance and competitive career. Extensive television appearances. Julia contributed to success of Russian Figure Skating Team from 1980-1982 Privately trained a number of top competitors who are now successfully creating in the United States Mark Nocera Mark Nocera is a World-Class Adjudicator with the National Dance Council of America and the World Dancesport Council. Mark is also a former North American Champion, United States Vice-Champion, and Semi-Finalist at the World 10 Dance Championships. He has performed and taught on network and cable television. Mark is also a National Examiner for DVIDA. He and his wife Dawna have operated Studio 665 in Woburn for the past 32 years. Mark has also served as the head coach of the Tufts Ballroom Dance Team for over 15 years. He is a co-organizer of the Eastern US Dancesport Championship, which takes place in Boston in February, and the Massachusetts Dancesport Challenge in Melrose in August. Rufus Dustin Former US Champion in American Style Rhythm and Smooth combined 1974 and 1975, North American Latin Champion, Imperial and East Coast Latin American Champion 1979,1980 and 1981, US Theatrical Champion 1975 and 1979, US Representative to the World Latin American Championship 1980 and 1981, US Cabaret Champion 1984, 1985 and 1986, World Cabaret Champion and British Invitational Cabaret Champion 1984 and 1985. Winner of the Golden Shoe award and the John Monte award. Sid Pocius Lithuanian 10-dance champion. Organizer of Sarasota Challenge and Encore Dancesport Competitions Steven Dougherty Steven Dougherty has been ballroom dancing since the age of thirteen. He was an amateur U.S. Ten Dance Champion as well as an amateur U.S. Standard Champion. Professionally, Steven was a U.S. Rising Star Smooth Champion, a five-time U.S. Open Smooth Finalist, World Open Smooth Finalist, and World American Smooth Showdance Champion. In addition to being on faculty with The Juilliard School in New York, Steven is the owner of the Metropolitan Dance Center in Stamford, Connecticut. Keith Todd Began dancing in England at Age 8. Danced competitively as juvenile and Junior and was the UK Ballroom and Latin Junior Champion. Moved to USA in 1979 to work with Bob Medeiros. Danced briefly as a professional in the USA and was a finalist in most major US Professional Latin Championships and was the US Rising Star Professional Ballroom Champion 1980. Created Dance Beat Newspaper in 1990 as a national dancesport publication. Continues until present day as Editor/Publisher. In 1992 discontinued all teaching and coaching to concentrate on newspaper work. Currently attends most major U.S. competitions as a reporter/critic for Dance Beat or as an adjudicator. U.S. adjudicator to the World Professional Latin Championship 2002. Has adjudicated at the U.S. National Championships many times, both in Miami and Provo, as well as other major events including The Embassy Ball, Emerald Ball, USA Dance Nationals, Can-Am Championships and La Classique du Quebec (Canada). David Don My experience has encompassed every aspect of dancesport from competing professional to teaching dance at every level. My extensive training has come from the top coaches in the United States and England. Presently, I coach dance, adjudicate and scrutineer. My accreditations are from the I.S.T.D and the N.A.D.T.A. Brad Morrison Brad Morrison is a ballroom dance emcee, deck captain, competition organizer, and certified scrutineer who enjoys organizing and running collegiate, amateur and pro-am ballroom dance competitions. He emcees regularly in many New England and Mid-Atlantic area competitions, including many collegiate competitions, several USA Dance National Qualifying Events, and a number of pro-am events. He was emcee for this year’s USA Dance National Championships in April. He also serves as deck captain for both collegiate and pro-am competitions. He began ballroom dancing as a doctoral student with the MIT Ballroom Dance Team and remains active with MIT and the greater Boston ballroom community. By day, he is an Associate Professor at the Brandeis International Business School, a Senior Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management, an adjunct faculty at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, a Visiting Associate Professor at Brown University, and faculty at the Center for Medical Simulation. He enjoys helping to organize and run ballroom dance competitions as a way of sharing his passion and connecting with the many interesting and talented people in the ballroom dance community.
